Montessori Schools in Greater Salt Lake City
Montessori programs from downtown Salt Lake City to West Valley City and South Jordan, most centered on the preschool and elementary years.
Funding note: Utah Fits All starts at age 5, so the preschool years of a Montessori program fall outside it; kindergarten and up can qualify at an approved school.
Montessori programs in Salt Lake and Tooele counties are concentrated in the preschool and early-elementary years, from Pinyon Montessori downtown to the Dancing Moose campuses in West Valley City and South Jordan. Because Utah Fits All starts at age 5, the scholarship covers only the kindergarten-and-up part of a Montessori program.
For 3- and 4-year-olds, the state child care subsidy is the main public help; ask whether the Montessori preschool is an approved provider. A child with an IEP can also reach a Montessori school through the Carson Smith list, which includes both Dancing Moose campuses.
Where they are: Salt Lake City (3), West Jordan, South Jordan, Riverton & Herriman (2), Millcreek, Holladay & Cottonwood Heights (2), Sandy & Draper (1), West Valley City, Kearns & Magna (1).
